Fourth round of the Danish Championship was hosted by the Naestved Mini Racing Club, 80 km south of Copenhagen. The club has also a beautiful and well known asphalt track. The off road and on road tracks are on each side of the drivers rostrum.

The off road track is open and fast with a good design but also very bumpy. Lap times around 36 seconds – but if the track had a smoother surface the lap times could have been much faster.

At the morning practice a lot of drivers where fast and it looked like a tough day with super competition – and once again on a sunny day with temperatures around 25 degrees. My car felt good and I was really expecting things to go well. My first qualifier did go well and I managed to take TQ. For the second round I changed tires from Medial Pro Raptor II to GRP Grip. The car was a bit better and as the only driver I managed to drive 9 laps.

With a total of four rounds and three to count, things did look super after winning the first two rounds. Unfortunately I got problems with the clutches in round three (I used the standard new clutches and 1.0 mm springs but installing them to engage more aggressive meant that the clutches worked themselves up towards the top of the clutch bell!!). The third round was won by Xray team driver Robert Hansen. The fourth round gave me problems – the track was now very bumpy – and I made a terrible qualifier. Overall it was Steffen Culmsee with his Caster who took the top position with 1 point gab to me – Steffen made 9 laps in his last run - very impressing as the bumpy conditions was worse in round 4.

After the sub finals it was time for the semi finals. I decided to make a lot of changes. I went from 400 wt to 300 wt oil in the rear, in the front I moved the shocks from position 3 to 2 on the lower arms, I went from 4 to 5 degrees front kick up, I put the shocks more vertical and last I changed the rear toe in from 3 to 3,5 degrees. These changes showed to be very good on this bumpy track. I was flying in the semi and could drive home a safe victory.

From an Xray perspective the semi finals was fantastic. 6 Xray drivers got through to the final: Peter Harder, Claus Nielsen, Ole Harder, Rune Gustavesen, Robert Hansen and Janus Harder. An interesting start position 10 in the final was Steen Graversen – he is one of the world’s top drivers with 1:10 Electric Touring car. For this race Steen got a HoBao/Picco and impressing to see his driving skills giving him his first A final with a Buggy.

Nice race with good results. Next up will be the big Scandinavian Championship event, August 12-14 - with about 100 drivers from Norway, Finland, Sweden and the home country Denmark. Drivers like the Palsson’s, Linus Thern, Christoffer Svensson, Robert Gustavsson and many other top drivers will be there!!
